Profile expiry and automatic deletion
Learn why profiles are automatically deleted after 30 days and how you can extend the deadline
Jobfoto automatically deletes profiles 30 days after creation. This article explains why we do this, how it works, and how long your profile stays active.
Why profiles expire
We automatically remove inactive profiles for several reasons:
- Your privacy – Your uploaded photos and AI-generated headshots are personal data. We don't want to keep them longer than necessary.
- Storage costs – Each profile contains uploaded photos and generated headshots. Keeping inactive profiles indefinitely would significantly increase infrastructure costs, which we'd need to pass on to all users.
- Data minimization – We follow the principle of keeping data only as long as it serves a purpose, in line with established privacy practices.
How it works
30-day expiry
When you create a profile, it expires 30 days later. A countdown banner appears on your profile page when 8 days or fewer remain.
Activity extends the deadline
Any activity on your profile automatically resets the 30-day deadline. This includes:
- Generating new headshots
- Upscaling headshots
- Using the Magic Editor
As long as you actively use your profile, it won't expire.
Email reminder
We'll send you an email reminder 8 days before your profile is scheduled for deletion, giving you time to save your headshots or extend the deadline by visiting your profile.
What gets deleted
When a profile expires, the following data is permanently removed:
- All uploaded photos
- All generated headshots and edits
- Profile settings and all stored information
Extending your profile
Just use your profile before the expiry date. When you see the countdown banner, generating a new headshot, upscaling an image, or using the Magic Editor will automatically push the date forward.
Saving your headshots
If you no longer need your profile but want to keep your headshots:
- Go to your profile page
- Mark your favorite headshots
- Download them in the highest quality you need
- Verify your downloads are complete
After downloading, your headshots are yours forever – they don't depend on your Jobfoto profile.
Can I restore a deleted profile?
No. Once a profile is deleted, all associated data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. You would need to create a new profile and upload photos again.
