Profile Expiry and Automatic Deletion

Jobfoto automatically deletes profiles 30 days after creation. This article explains why we do this, how it works, and how you can extend your profile's lifetime.

Why Profiles Expire

We automatically remove inactive profiles for several reasons:

• Your privacy — Your training photos and AI-generated headshots are personal data. We don't want to hold onto it longer than necessary.
• Storage costs — Each profile includes uploaded photos, a trained AI model, and generated headshots. Keeping inactive profiles indefinitely would significantly increase infrastructure costs, which we'd have to pass on to all users.
• Data minimization — We follow the principle of only retaining data for as long as it serves a purpose, in line with privacy best practices.

How It Works

30-Day Expiry

When you create a profile, it's set to expire 30 days later. A countdown banner appears on your profile page when fewer than 7 days remain.

Activity Extends the Deadline

Any activity on your profile automatically extends the expiry date by 7 days. This includes:

• Generating new headshots
• Upscaling images
• Using the Magic Editor

As long as you're actively using your profile, it won't expire.

Email Reminder

We send you an email reminder 3 days before your profile is scheduled for deletion, so you have time to save your headshots or extend the deadline by visiting your profile.

What Gets Deleted

When a profile expires, the following data is permanently removed:

• All uploaded training photos
• The trained AI model
• All generated headshots and upscaled images
• Profile settings and metadata

How to Keep Your Profile

Simply use your profile before the expiry date. If you see the expiry countdown banner, generating a new headshot, upscaling an image, or using the Magic Editor will automatically push the date forward.

Before Your Profile Expires

If you no longer need your profile but want to keep your headshots:

1. Go to your profile page
2. Mark your favorite headshots
3. Download them in the highest quality you need
4. Verify your downloads are complete

Once downloaded, your headshots are yours to keep forever — they don't depend on your Jobfoto profile.

Can I Restore a Deleted Profile?

No. Once a profile is deleted, all associated data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. This includes the trained AI model, so you would need to create a new profile and upload photos again.
