Service Disruption
Why headshot generation may temporarily fail and what to do when you see a service disruption banner
Jobfoto relies on external AI providers to generate your headshots. Occasionally, these providers experience outages or elevated error rates that temporarily affect generation reliability. When this happens, you may see a notification banner at the bottom of the screen.
Why Does This Happen?
Headshot generation uses third-party AI infrastructure to run the image models. These services can experience intermittent issues — typically caused by:
- Provider outages — our AI provider may experience service disruptions that affect Jobfoto and other services that rely on them
- Elevated error rates — even without a full outage, providers can return errors for a portion of requests
- High demand — during peak usage the underlying infrastructure may become temporarily overloaded
What the Notification Banner Means
Jobfoto continuously monitors generation success rates. When our system detects an elevated number of failures, a warning banner appears automatically to let you know. The banner means:
- Some generations are currently failing at a higher rate than normal
- The issue has been automatically detected — our team is aware
- The banner will disappear once the success rate returns to normal
Are My Credits Safe?
Yes. Credits are automatically refunded whenever a generation fails, regardless of the reason. You will never lose credits due to a service disruption. The failed generation appears in your activity log with a "Failed" status and your credits are returned immediately.
What You Can Do
- Try again — some edits and generations might still get through during a partial outage. Simply click the Retry button on any failed generation or create a new one
- Wait 15 minutes — most disruptions are short-lived. If your first retry fails, give it a few minutes before trying again
- Check back later — if it's still not working, check back in 2-3 hours. The notification banner will disappear automatically once service is restored
